At Reigate St Mary’s Preparatory and Choir School, a recent renovation project addressed the aging Altro safety flooring in key areas of the facility. The existing safety flooring had been in place for over 10 years, and it had begun to show signs of wear, particularly at the seams where failure was evident.

To ensure the continued safety and hygiene of the school’s environment, the decision was made to update the flooring. The failing seams were carefully cut back to prepare the surface for the new installation. New pieces of Altro safety flooring, known for their durability and slip-resistant properties, were then fitted precisely into the prepared areas.

For a seamless and robust finish, the new flooring sections were hot welded in place. This process involved using heat to bond the seams, creating a smooth and continuous surface that not only enhances the flooring’s appearance but also improves its longevity and performance. The result is a revitalized, safe, and hygienic floor that will serve the school community for many years to come.
